Joined the army in    Aug 1966  basic training in Ft, Bless TX.

AIT; Ft Knox KY, in air borne armor transferred to 3^rd SQ, 17^th Air Cav

Was the first enlisted man in D Troop and the 16^th enlisted man in the Squadron, in  D troop 3/17   trained with the RANGER,s in camp Dahlonega  Georgia in Mountain nearing, trained  with special forces in west Virginia in special opps. And jungle war fair Crossed trained with in the Sq.

Went to Viet Nam Oct. 16, 1967 on a troop ship USS general Walker returned to home  Oct. 8, 1968 to Ft. Knox KY. ETS. Aug 1969
